OUTLINE:

The Value of Community – blog 5/26/23
People have developed a phobia of people.

Jas 3:17
But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere.

Jas 1:5
If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.

Pr 4:7
The beginning of wisdom is this: Get wisdom, and whatever you get, get insight.

Do you give others the same grace you give yourself?

Do you give others the same grace you give yourself?

“work out your own salvation”
In other words, since you aren’t God, and are incapable of discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart (you have a hard enough time re: your own heart), you should defer to grace, mercy, and love when thinking of and engaging with others.

Do you give others the same grace you give yourself?

Jn 11:35
Jesus wept.

Lk 6:35
But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return, and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, for he is kind to the ungrateful and the evil.

Community
It cannot exist in the absence of grace, mercy, and love. It’s up to us, as individuals, to nurture and cultivate it between us, especially in the Body of Christ (but also abroad, ala Heb 12:14 “Strive for peace with everyone…”). If you’ve been living as an island, it’s time to begin building bridges.
