OUTLINE:

Jesus Christ is our Great High Priest, Who perfectly represents us all to God. Heb 3:1, 4:14

A priest is someone appointed by God to represent sinful people before Him. Heb 5:1

Jesus was a Jew, born from the tribe of Judah; so He was not from the tribe of Levi from which all Jewish priests came forth. Heb 7:14, Rev 5:5

Jesus' Priesthood
It was from an order established by God WELL BEFORE Moses and the Law were ever given... the order of Melchizedek. Heb 6:20

Is 9:6
For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us;
And the government will rest on His shoulders;
And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.

Why Is Our Hope So Certain?

"The Lord Our Righteousness"
His precious blood paid the eternal price, unlike the blood of the animal sacrifices in the OT, which were only temporary until the great and final sacrifice came in the person of Jesus Christ. Heb 10

Our Great Hope
JESUS IS ETERNALLY, PERPETUALLY, PERMANENTLY representing us sinners before God! Heb 7:3-24
