OUTLINE:

“My food is to do…”
This may seem like a paradox to some (especially unbelievers); however, it is fundamental to our spiritual walk. We “do” in order to be sustained.

FOCUS on NOW!
Php 3:13 …But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead +
Mt 6:34 “So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

“My food is to do…”
This may seem like a paradox to some (especially unbelievers); however, it is fundamental to our spiritual walk. We “do” in order to be sustained.

The Fullness Of Christ
Jesus Christ went days without eating physical food and yet, He never worried about being sustained. He was always “full”.

Christ’s Freedom
Since He is full of truth, and “truth shall make you free,” He also is full of FREEDOM!

“to the fullness of Christ”
Jesus Christ is our standard, our measuring stick. He is the highest mark, representing perfection. God’s desire is that we are “complete [mature] in Christ” (Col 1:28; cp Ro 8:29; 2Co 3:18). The result is freedom (Gal 5:1).

Jn 15:11 “These things I have spoken to you so that My joy may be in you, and that your joy may be made full.
Jn 17:13 “But now I come to You; and these things I speak in the world so that they may have My joy made full in themselves.

“joy inexpressible”
from chara aneklaletos - means unable to fully describe or report; impossible to communicate (convey) adequately by words; hence, unutterable, inexpressible (used only in 1Pe 1:8).

2Co 9:15
Thanks be to God for His indescribable [anekdiegetos - means indescribable, that cannot be thoroughly related] gift!

Divine Joy
The world has a myriad of counterfeits, but there's only one true joy, and it's from following our Lord and His commands! Jn 15:11

Unholy “Blessings” Are Distractions
If it takes you away from your First Love, it’s unholy (aka not good). WARNING: do NOT look for loop holes or try to justify your sinning by overcomplicating this simple statement (that’s called “lawyering,” something Satan is a master at).

Lk 10:41-42
But the Lord answered and said to her, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and bothered about so many things; but only one thing is necessary, for Mary has chosen the good part, which shall not be taken away from her.”

“devoting”
from proskartereo - to attend constantly; to stand at the ready; persevering affection

The Church Commission
Many churches make the mistake of focusing on unbelievers; however, the Bible teaches us that local assemblies are for believers.

“continuing with one mind”
from proskatereo humothumadon - means “steadfastly continuing with one accord”; in context, describes the strong fellowship in the early church (something every church should strive for and protect)

1Ti 2:4-6 [Message]
He wants not only us but everyone saved, you know, everyone to get to know the truth we’ve learned: that there’s one God and only one, and one Priest-Mediator between God and us—Jesus, who offered himself in exchange for everyone held captive by sin, to set them all free.
