OUTLINE:

This is REAL!
Being a believer in Christ isn’t supposed to be some ethereal hope that we cling to while we melt away down here on Earth. Being a believer in Christ gives us fortitude, strength, power - it makes us resolute, firm in our faith, able to stand up against whatever this world throws at us (which is a lot!).

Eph 5:10-11
and try to discern what is pleasing to the Lord. Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them.

1Jn 3:18
Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth.

Food for Thought
  • Encouragement for good DEEDS, not just good words
  • A beckoning us to abide in the sphere of God, experientially
  • A reminder that true peace can only be found in Him
  • Practically speaking, it’s more blessed to give than to receive
  • A life lived with gratitude is a blessed life

Seeing It All as Truth
With God there is always perfect synchronicity - all aspects of growing up in Christ work together for good for those who love Him (ref: Ro 8:28).

Poor perspective guarantees poor living.

You Are Rich!
According to the Bible, you are infinitely wealthy, as a believer in Christ. Therefore, “poor living” seems like an absurd thing to accept as a status quo in your life. With the right perspective, you are able to transcend any/all circumstances (Php 4:11-13).

"according to his riches"
God is infinitely rich. When He gives, He gives “according to” His ability to give. A good example of this is a miracle (e.g. salvation, healing, etc.).

Perspective
Focus on loving others while God loves you!

Being “In Love”
There’s no better place to be, for you or for others, than abiding in the sphere of God’s love! (e.g. Jn 15: 11-14)

2Pe 2:19
For whatever overcomes a person, to that he is enslaved.
