MacDonald on Ro 5:13
Although there was sin during that time [before the Law was given], there was no transgression because transgression is the violation of a known law.

The Simplicity of Salvation
Not only is the Gospel easy to understand/digest, but it is also tied to a command to believe it by the One with exclusive rights on salvation, its intended result!

2Pe 3:9 [Amplified]
The Lord does not delay [as though He were unable to act] and is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is [extraordinarily] patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance.

2Pe 3:15 [Amplified]
And consider the patience of our Lord [His delay in judging and avenging wrongs] as salvation [that is, allowing time for more to be saved]; just as our beloved brother Paul also wrote to you according to the wisdom given to him [by God],

Joel 2:13 [Amplified]
Rip your heart to pieces [in sorrow and contrition] and not your garments.” Now return [in repentance] to the Lord your God, For He is gracious and compassionate, Slow to anger, abounding in lovingkindness [faithful to His covenant with His people]; And He relents [His sentence of] evil [when His people genuinely repent].
