OUTLINE:

Helping the Helpless
As an extension of Jesus, we reach out to spiritual orphans, and literal orphans. Both are noble activities because they involve helping the helpless, the very thing God loves to do.

1Th 4:8
So, he who rejects this is not rejecting man but the God who gives His Holy Spirit to you.

Need Must Be Recognized
God gives man the ability to choose to believe in Jesus for his salvation, or not. The first great question to be answered is, “Do I really need a savior?” The impetus for answering rightly is an understanding/acceptance of his own need. (Ala Jas 4:6)

Martyn Lloyd-Jones on Ps 107
(God's salvation) is available for all who realize their distress and who are anxious to be delivered out of the hands of the enemy that holds them in such terrible bondage.

Pastor Collins
At the moment a need is recognized, either humility or arrogance meets it.

Need Must Be Recognized
The simple fact of the matter is that man is born so utterly depraved and NEEDY that he must be 100% dependent on the Holy God of the Universe to pluck him out of his inherent despair.

Deception!
One of the greatest lies of Satan, that's even perpetrated amongst the so-called “Christian” churches in this world, is that ‘man is not born like an orphan in need of an adoptive Father.’... that man is not born in sin, helpless to save himself.

Ro 5:6
For while we were still helpless, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly.

Admitting Helplessness
When the truth is reconciled in the soul of a person, THEN God delivers him in a variety of ways, by grace. Lk 18:13-14, Eph 2:8, Jas 4:6

Eph 6:14-16
Stand firm therefore, HAVING GIRDED YOUR LOINS WITH TRUTH, and HAVING PUT ON THE BREASTPLATE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS, and having shod YOUR FEET WITH THE PREPARATION OF THE GOSPEL OF PEACE; in addition to all, taking up the shield of faith with which you will be able to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.
