OUTLINE:

1Ti 6:15b-16
he who is the blessed and only Sovereign, the King of kings and Lord of lords, who alone has immortality, who dwells in unapproachable light, whom no one has ever seen or can see. To him be honor and eternal dominion. Amen.

Safe Harbor
The safest, calmest, most protected state of being for a child of God is at port, anchored inside the harbor, away from the stormy seas (aka life). If you want stability in your life, then you need to stay as close as possible, at all times, to God’s Word.

“Stay close to the Word, always!”

It’s Summertime – YAY!
- Have you been reading your Bible daily?
- Have you been reading the blogs when they come out?
- Have you been taking in every message from this pulpit?
- Have you been taking time to pray/fellowship with God alone?

Pro 28:9
If one turns away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer is an abomination.

People Are Slow Learners
I’m not sure I’ve ever met a person who hasn’t learned most things the hard way. They may faithfully read their Bibles, and STILL, they insist on “riding that bicycle” before they’re ready (if they ever are)!

Recognizing Christ’s Love
Protective love is sacrificial love. Christ loved when His expression was unpopular. For example, He spoke more about Hell (in the Bible) than Heaven because He was trying to protect people from it. The Gospel may be offensive, but it is meant to save, which is fundamentally a protective act.

Gal 6:7
Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap.

Our Father’s Salvific Plan
– blog 8/18/23
Jesus knew that ultimately it was His Father’s salvific plan, not His own. He asked, as we all would, for a potential alternative and He got His answer. It needed to be Him. All Him. For all of us. So, He obeyed.

Lk 22:43-44
And there appeared to him an angel from heaven, strengthening him. And being in agony he prayed more earnestly; and his sweat became like great drops of blood falling down to the ground.

God’s Word Never Fails
God is with us every step of the way, ensuring our salvation, and that once saved, we remained saved by never losing saving faith! For example, He sends ministers to strengthen us in time of need.

Lam 3:22-23
The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases;
his mercies never come to an end;
they are new every morning;
great is your faithfulness.
