OUTLINE:

The Wellspring of Life Eternal (Jn 4:10, 14)
Salvation is as simple and pure as drinking a glass of water, where the peace we seek with our Creator can be quenched.

Jn 15:10 If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commandments and abide in his love.

- AND -

Jn 14:15 “If you love me, you will keep my commandments.

Jn 17:8
For I have given them the words that you gave me, and they have received them and have come to know in truth that I came from you; and they have believed that you sent me.

“You can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make them drink.”

Being Invited to Dine With the King
The invitation into the “sphere of God” implies an intimate relationship. If the King calls you to His table, that's a special opportunity to be in His home and eat of His blessings. So is the offer of salvation... turn away from your own food and drink and receive His supply if you want peace with your King. (Mt 22:1-14)

To the thirsty I will give from the spring of the water of life without payment.” (Rev 21:6)

- AND -

“The water that I will give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.” (Jn 4:14b)

The Second Death (Rev 21:8)
Every human being is given the option to drink from the wellspring that leads to eternal life (aka - have their thirst quenched). If they refuse, they will die in their sins (die thirsty), which is called “the second death.”

“And without faith it is impossible to please him...” (Heb 11:6)

- AND -

“And Jesus said to him, ‘“‘If you can’! All things are possible for one who believes.’” (Mk 9:23)

Obeying the Command to Love
Jn 13:35 By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.” 1 Jn 4:11-12 Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God; if we love one another, God abides in us and his love is perfected in us.

“practice these things”
“practice” - from prasso - means to commit to habit, to perform, to be in any condition; Ala Jas 1:22-25, don’t just “talk the talk,” but rather, “walk the walk” (ala Gal 5).

Ro 6:2b
How can we who died to sin still live in it?

1Co 14:33a
For God is not a God of confusion but of peace.
