OUTLINE:

The Spirit of Christ Says:
- Be grateful
- Pray within the sphere of this gratitude
- Love
- Rest, and take comfort in His promises

Ps 103:14
For He Himself knows our frame; He is mindful that we are but dust.

"I'm not capable.
I need God's help.
I need my Savior.”

Find Joy On Your Knees
We may fight the Spirit's downward pressure to "get on our knees" and pray, but the reality is twofold:  resistance is futile and the "painful breaking" that occurs is necessary for sanctification (Jas 4:1-10).

Spiritual Healing
This is God's top priority and was the primary purpose of our Lord's first coming. (Job 5:17-19; Ps 41:3-4; 103:1-5; 147:1-6; Hos 6:1-3; Mal 4:1-2; Mt 13:15,23)

Ps 41:3-4 [ESV]
The Lord sustains him on his sickbed; in his illness you restore him to full health. As for me, I said, “O Lord, be gracious to me; heal me, for I have sinned against you!”

Spiritual Healing
This is God's top priority and was the primary purpose of our Lord's first coming. (Job 5:17-19; Ps 41:3-4; 103:1-5; 147:1-6; Hos 6:1-3; Mal 4:1-2; Mt 13:15,23)

Ps 103:2-3 [ESV]
Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits, who forgives all your iniquity, who heals all your diseases,

Ps 147:3 [ESV]
He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.

Spiritual Healing
This is God's top priority and was the primary purpose of our Lord's first coming. (Job 5:17-19; Ps 41:3-4; 103:1-5; 147:1-6; Hos 6:1-3; Mal 4:1-2; Mt 13:15,23)

Read Your Bible!
If you don’t read your Bibles, how will you obey (more specifically, WHAT will you obey???

Deliverance
It is often indescribable at inception, as an idea, a living hope; but, once consummated by the Spirit of God, by His power and grace, it becomes plainly obvious. Faith is what gets us from hope to reality.

The Deceitfulness of Sin

Col 3:5a [ESV]
Put to death therefore what is earthly in you…

Mk 8:34-35 [ESV]
And calling the crowd to him with his disciples, he said to them, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake and the gospel's will save it.”

“Feelings” vs. Truth
People “feel” a lot of things are “right,” even as it pertains to the things of God. However, many so-called “Christians” today have feelings void of Biblical training (e.g. Eph 4:11-12; Ro 10:17). In the absence of divine knowledge, their conscience is a slave to false data (e.g., “the doctrines of demons” - 1Ti 4:1).

“Feelings” vs. Truth
One of the easiest ways to discern if a conscience has been duped is the presence of “feelings” in the absence of Biblical knowledge/permission.

Eph 4:15 [ESV]
Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ,

Eph 4:22-24 [ESV]
to put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds, and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.

John Newton
Obedience is the best test of sincerity; feelings are various, transient, and often deceitful; but a broken, humble spirit, and an upright walk, evidence the finger of God; other things may be and are often counterfeited.
