OUTLINE:

The Source of Confidence
Jesus is the only person worthy of possessing self-confidence. Our confidence must be “in Him,” not in ourselves. We might call this “Christ- confidence”. (ref: 1Co 2:16)

Faith

“the service of righteousness”
from maaseh tsedaqah (Hebrew) - also translated “the effect of righteousness” or “the wages of righteousness." The final happiness of the blessed in Christ's kingdom is always spoken of as a state of "rest and quietness"

Jn 15:18-19
“If the world hates you, you know that it has hated Me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, because of this the world hates you.”

Your Faith Is Offensive
Grace is offensive to man. Any result of it is also offensive to man. For example, godly faith that results in confidence confounds, irritates, and becomes a cause for hatred against the possessor of it.

Heb 10:22
let us draw near with a sincere [true, pure, real, genuine - without hypocrisy] heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.

Mt 5:8
“Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.”

Jas 1:6-8
But he must ask in faith without any doubting [aka, with a pure heart/ intentions], for the one who doubts is like the surf of the sea, driven and tossed by the wind. For that man ought not to expect that he will receive anything from the Lord, being a double- minded man, unstable in all his ways.
