OUTLINE:

Jn 10:11 MSG
"I am the Good Shepherd. The Good Shepherd puts the sheep before himself, sacrifices himself if necessary.

“poured out”
from spendo - means to pour out as a libation, i.e. (figuratively) to devote (one's life or blood, as a sacrifice) ("spend") -- (be ready to) be offered. (Strong’s)

Php 2:2-3
...make my joy complete by being of the same mind, maintaining the same love, united in spirit, intent on one purpose. Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind regard one another as more important than yourselves...

Perspective On Spiritual Gifts
The “gift” is to the Church, the Body of Christ. It is a gift to the Bride from her Bridegroom (Jesus Christ). Your spiritual gift(s) is not about YOU, it is about your benefit to the Church, for others.

Beware!
Spiritual gifts are given by God, no one else. If the fruit of a person’s efforts is always directed toward themselves, chances are the claims made are void of godly substance. The Bible warns us specifically in the area of shepherding. (1Jn 4:1; 2Pe 2:1-3; 2Co 11:13-15; 1Ti 6:3-5; Jude 4; Mt 7:15)

Beware!
Mt 7:15 “Beware of the false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves.
Jude 4 For certain persons [false teachers] have crept in unnoticed, those who were long beforehand marked out for this condemnation, ungodly persons who turn the grace of our God into licentiousness and deny our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.

The Lord Is Our Confidence
We must be confident in His choices... never man’s!

Let It Be "Of God"
PLEASE... as a member of the Body/ Bride of Christ... for whom YOUR spiritual gift was given... PLEASE do not persist in your self-determination (if that describes you).

Let It Be "Of God"
If you have a certain spiritual gift, you will be confident that God has given it to you. He’ll also give you a “measure of faith” to convict you. Ro 12:3c,6c

Perspective On Grace
We have ZERO right to deem God’s grace “acceptable” or “unacceptable” to us. We are not the standard bearers here. Our only duty is to accept whatever God’s grace gives us. If He’s giving it, we must receive it, also (“no, thank you” isn’t a godly option).
