OUTLINE:

Remember...
Good parenting is met with much more back pressure, persecution, and rejection than bad parenting is today. Love is able to overcome all of it. (Ref: Ro 1:30; 2Ti 3:2 - “disobedient to parents”)

A Shepherd Looks At Psalm 23
By W. Phillip Keller

“poured out”
from spendo - means to pour out as a libation, i.e. (figuratively) to devote (one's life or blood, as a sacrifice) ("spend") -- (be ready to) be offered. (Strong’s)

Perspective On Spiritual Gifts
The “gift” is to the Church, the Body of Christ. It is a gift to the Bride from her Bridegroom (Jesus Christ). Your spiritual gift(s) is not about YOU, it is about your benefit to the Church, for others.

Beware!
Spiritual gifts are given by God, no one else. If the fruit of a person’s efforts is always directed toward themselves, chances are the claims made are void of godly substance. The Bible warns us specifically in the area of shepherding. (1Jn 4:1; 2Pe 2:1-3; 2Co 11:13-15; 1Ti 6:3-5; Jude 4; Mt 7:15)

Is 55:8
“For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” declares the LORD.

Perspective On Grace
We have ZERO right to deem God’s grace “acceptable” or “unacceptable” to us. We are not the standard bearers here. Our only duty is to accept whatever God’s grace gives us. If He’s giving it, we must receive it, also (“no, thank you” isn’t a godly option).

The Perversion Of Grace
Grace is the means of salvation/ deliverance. Grace is not accommodating to the human flesh the way many Christians would like to believe. In fact, grace provisions are offensive to the human flesh because they are exclusively God’s to give (the flesh has no part in it).

If we lose sight of grace, we lose sight of our reason for confidence.

If the Lord is your confidence, then YOU are not.
